Found in 1540, Jamnagar was the capital of Jamthe Jadeja, the Rajput ruler of Nawanagar. This district is bounded on the North by the Rann and Gulf of Kutch, on the South by Junagadh district, on the East by Rajkot district, and on the West by the Arabian Sea. It was built around Rammol Lake and in center of the lake is a small palace. It is famous for pearl fisheries, tie & die fabrics and bandhini work.
