Found in 1743 AD by Bhavsinhji Gohil, the Suryavanshi ruler whose ancestors had migrated from Marwar five centuries earlier, Bhavnagar is a flourishing port town on the south-eastern coast of Gujarat`s Saurashtra region. Bhavnagar today has a number of small, medium and large industries and is a premier cotton-exporting seaport.
